URL image preview for For Landing Page is wrong

Hi there folks, we are trying this now for more than 2 weeks and it is driving us crazy. So now the last resort, the Shopify community 🙂

For Christmas, we created a landing page (Online Store > Pages) with a template called "christmas-sale-template". The landing page is in German and the url is the following: https://www.bienenblatt.de/pages/weihnachtsgeschenk/

Now, If I want to share it on FB and such, this is how the general preview look like - it is our generic image for the whole site (which we don't want for the landing page):

However, for our Christmas sales landing page, we would like to use the header image of this landing page.

We tried a lot, changing the code in the Liquid.theme, and every time with FB Sharing Debugger, but nothing seems to work -

I actually thought, it should be an easy thing to do, but it is not... it is very frustrating 😞

Does anyone have any idea how we could change the Image Link preview for a Page (Template) in Shopify :)?

Thanks and saludos,

Tom

Hi,

This is Richard at PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app.

The content of the landing page you provided seems to be about Propolis, not relevant to Christmas sales. This could be because the browse extension might not be able to access the edited content or it might be a Shopify SEO strategy to target broader terms.

Here are some general steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue of the Facebook preview image not being set correctly for your Shopify christmas sales landing page:

  1. Check your Facebook Sharing Debugger Setup:

    • Use the Facebook Sharing Debugger tool (https://kinsta.com/knowledgebase/facebook-debugger/]) to fetch and preview how your landing page will look when shared on Facebook.
    • Enter your landing page URL in the debugger and click the "Debug" button.
    • Facebook should then scrape your page and provide a preview of how it will be shared.
  2. Set the Open Graph Image Meta Tag:

    • Shopify themes typically use meta tags to control how content is shared on social media.
    • Look for the theme editor in your Shopify admin panel and find the section where you can edit the meta tags for your landing page.
    • There should be a meta tag named "og:image" or "image". Here you can specify the URL of the image you want to use as the preview image for Facebook sharing.
    • Make sure the image URL is accurate and accessible by Facebook.
  3. Use a Social Sharing App:

    • There are many Shopify apps available that can help you manage social media sharing for your store.
    • These apps can often simplify the process of setting the correct preview image and other social sharing settings for your pages.
  4. Clear Facebook Cache:

    • Sometimes, Facebook may cache the old preview image for your landing page.
    • Try clearing Facebook's cache and then using the Sharing Debugger again to see if the new image is picked up.

Hoping my solution helps you solve your problem.

Best regards,

Richard | PageFly
