Using Shopify to Connect Buyer and Seller, eg.Bricklink

Apologies for what may be a very basic question, but I have had an idea for some time and am only just now exploring it further.

Does anyone use Shopify purely as a place to connect buyer and seller - think BrickLink > https://www.bricklink.com/v2/main.page

I'm interested in the same/similar type of functionality in principal.
