Hello to whom is may concern I have been sent an email from an account that appears to be shopify. The email address is tech.help.shopify@gmail.com.

 

i wanted to check that this email is a valid shopify team email and not a fake.

My concern for it being fake is that I’ve been sent an email in regards to shopify doing a routine check of my store and they have detected policies bridged in section 7 and section 12 of shopify TOS and regulations,it wasn’t explained to me in depth as to what the issues in the policies were, by this I mean which section in the policies and I apparently have 2 days left to fix the problem, the only way to fix the problem is to upgrade my shopify theme to stop my store from being shut down, I was also told I have some malware threat signal detected from my store which I’m unsure how that has happened.

Hey, @Bmadge 

 

This does appear to be a spam email! If possible, please follow a guide such as this one that will show you how to download the email header from that spam email. From there, you can send the file as an attachment to our safety team  so that they can analyse the information and follow-up if necessary.

Hi Dirk I have tried to do this both on the app and in a browser and it is not working, when I was being asked for payment for the premium theme they wanted the money sent to someone in Nigeria.

They also gave me the name of the person if that helps in any way.

Would you be able to forward the original email to our internal team Safety@shopify.com? This will allow our team to investigate the email and look to stop the phishing emails.
