All things Shopify and commerce
Greetings everyone. I work for a company which sells dental supplies. There are some products that require a doctors license # and other information to approve before we can sell those products.
Is there a way I can add fields to the registration form and manually approve checkouts before accepting payments?
I would rather not use apps. (I've been studying hard to learn liquid on the side.)

Hi Roberto,
I completely understand your concerns regarding the implementation of frontend restrictions. It’s true that while feasible, this method can be complex and potentially not entirely secure.
Integrating the verification process into the user registration could be a more efficient solution. This would allow you to approve users beforehand, ensuring that only those authorized can make purchases. By tagging approved users, you grant them exclusive purchasing rights, adding a layer of security and streamlining the process.
As for the submission of license documents and information, while you prefer not to use apps, a custom app or a backend solution might be necessary for a smooth and effective verification process. Alternatively, managing this via email is an option, though it could lead to a more complicated management process.
Creating a custom app might seem overwhelming, but remember, there are experts like myself in the community who are dedicated to crafting bespoke solutions for Shopify stores. Partnering with a specialist can offer you a secure, trouble-free system tailored to your specific needs.
I’m here to help if you need further assistance. Wishing you all the best with your store!
