All things Shopify and commerce
Hi, I am an EU based company and sell both within the EU and outside (mainly the US). It's been brought to my attention many times that many customers outside the EU see my prices already converted to net VAT prices. For example, a price of €205 will be seen €169.42 outside of the EU. They never know that the true VAT price is the €205. I usually say that VAT will be deducted at check-out but of course, they aren't seeing a deduction as the price is already net VAT. I do address it in my FAQ's but who really looks at FAQ's?
It's a change that I did not implement but understand that it's convenience for some customers. I'm assuming it's a Shopify feature? If so, is there a way to turn it off?
Thanks , Joe
Perfect. Thanks!
Sorry, I'm not finding a place to disable VAT removal under Taxes and duties. I can only look at countries individually and there still isn't an option. Suggestions?
Unfortunately I do not have a Tax Calculations option. I have a Global Settings which doesn't offer a Tax Calculations option. As for taxes, the only option, under Global Settings, is to remove the VAT from all pricing (including EU). I'll keep searching. Maybe you have a different level of Shopify...
I found a similar adjustment under 'Markets', where I could remove dynamic prices. Unfortunately it does not allow for VAT to be removed at check-out. I will reach out to Shopify. Thanks
