All things Shopify and commerce
Hi I need some help please :
my webstore sells uniforms as a uniform vendor, and for one of the schools that we serve, the school has introduced vouchers on their end -- a welcome pack for a new student -- which can comprises of uniforms top( shirt & Blouse ), bottoms ( Shorts, skorts ), dresses, bags, socks etc.
The school has mentioned that for every new student they will be able to get a welcome pack -- which has a voucher attached to it.
The voucher is used to collect/redeem the uniforms online ( But this voucher does not have a fixed value to it. The value of the voucher will be indicated base on the items chosen from the starter packs. And each item has a monetary value to it. )
So for example :
Parent receives this voucher to shop in my webstore . Is able to obtain 2 x uniforms top , 2 x bottoms / skorts , 1 x PE t-Shirt, 1 x PE Shorts , 1 x socks.
The value of the voucher should comprise of the above 7 items, which could have different monetary values because different sizes. Hence the
Hence the total value of the uniforms chosen will equal to the voucher, which has an open value? Because end of the day, i will need to invoice to the school based on what the parents have ordered.
While i think i am structuring my sentence rightly, through how it sounds in my head + exploring the gift cards section in shopify adim, it just seems, that there is a lot of conditions to be met.
Any ideas / thoughts / sugggestions on how i should go about doing this, will be very helpful, not just for me, i believe, there could be some other customers who has faced the same kind of issues.
Cheers
Shawnnnn
We can help you in this to boost ur sales online
@Shawnnnn , as a first step, you should be able to create a "New student bundle" with Shopify's free bundle app with the products and quantities for the bundle defined. After that, you can use a 3rd party app to create unique vouchers for the student bundle.
I suggest you try our app, Discount Bot, to both generate the vouchers as well as making sure only 1 such bundle gets the 100% discount in the cart.
On the admin side, you can create a discount and generate vouchers. Make sure to limit the discount to just one bundle. Also make sure each voucher can only be redeemed once:
Here's a screenshot the cart with 2 school bundles and one bottom added. Only one bundle gets the discount:
In case of any questions, please feel free to reply.
Hi there!
Nice to know that there is something out there that would be able to work.
While the app screenshots works as a reference, do you happen to have a short vid of how it works? Backend + how the customer would be able to see it?
Is this what its call, dynamic vouchers & bundle?
@Shawnnnn , made a quick video that shows the following steps:
1. Create a bundle using Shopify's free Bundles app
2. Create a discount and vouchers using Discount Bot
3. Add items to cart and use discount voucher
Here's the link: https://youtu.be/p7GjPyYEi_I
In case of additional questions, please let me know.
I have tried using shopify's own discount section ( picture 1 ), and also with the shopify bundle app ( picture 2 ), and the contents inside the bundle ( picture 3 ) .
This possibly could work. Possible.
So this bundle is for preschool uniforms. standard items.
For the older primary & secondary school students, However i tried adding more items into the bundle, and it would seem that there is that limitation as to what i want to include in the bundle, and knowing uniforms with the sizes, and various prices, that i am not able to have it as it is. like for example, the bundle must have 7 items, otherwise why call it a bundle? and also the system took into considerations of the sizes = variants, and it resulted in big numbers. Its funny.......? Unless there is a workaround this particular issue to have it as 10 ?
Back to discounts / vouchers, i was able to create a discount with this specific / random code that i can give to the customer, and i believe i can use the discount code to tie in with the bundle at the end when checkout. ( which is part of the process i am looking for ).
Let me know please. Thank you!
If creating a new discount for each student works for you, then the native discounts can surely be used - don't need an app for that. For better bundle management, you should be able to find a 3rd party app in the app store that doesn't have the native bundle app's limitations.
