Website scam

I purchased something Sunday from Claude and Co and got a text message thanking me for the order and payment receipt was through shop so it all seemed good as I have used shop many times before .

since then the website has gone down , it’s there but all images and descriptions are missing.

my order number is #1001 and I’ve searched these forums and someone’s had a similar instance a while ago , a different website but the same receipt number.

ive used the contact form in the webpage but had no reply also replied to the text and also no reply.

i suppose i need to contact my bank and dispute the transaction as a scam ?

It sounds like you’ve likely been scammed. The website going down, no responses, and a reused order number are all red flags. You should contact your bank immediately to dispute the charge and report it as fraud. Also report the issue through the Shop app, where you received the receipt. Save all evidence—screenshots, messages, and order confirmation. Avoid contacting the site further. If you want, I can help look into the website if you share the link.

Welcome to the community, even though the cause is a scam. Sorry to hear about that.

First, could you share the actual link of the store? Because it is most likely a copy of real, legit store.

You said that the website is gone, but missing images and description? 

That does not mean it is gone, and if you are not done already please report it at 

https://www.shopify.com/legal/tools/report-an-issue/report-a-merchant

Note that "order number is #1001" just means that you are the first customer to order in that shop.  

But yea like @websensepro explained well, gather all info and contact the bank.
