What happens to Expansion stores once we migrate from Shopify Plus to Basic Shopify plan?

Hello

We are currently on Shopify Plus plan and have an expansion store for our international sales using a sub-domain.

What will happen to the expansion store if we downgrade from Shopify Plus to basic shopify plan?

Will we be able to continue using the store with a paid plan even after we downgrade?

I understand that you're currently on Shopify Plus with expansion stores, and you'd like to consider downgrading from Shopify Plus to one of our core subscription plans. When downgrading from Shopify Plus, you'll be able to move the expansion store to a core Shopify plan or cancel the store. If you'd like to continue using the expansion store, then we'd recommend configuring the store-specific settings by contacting our support team so we can move the expansion store before you downgrade from Shopify Plus. Simply visit the Shopify Help Center and login to your account to create a support request.

That being said, I'd love to hear more about your business and share some resources to help you get started. What types of products are you selling on your stores? Do you have a marketing plan prepared for your business?

When you move from Shopify Plus to the Basic Shopify plan, your Expansion stores won’t be linked anymore. Shopify Plus lets you manage multiple stores under one account, but Basic Shopify only supports one store per account. This means you’ll need to create separate Shopify accounts and pay for each Expansion store individually.
You will lose the convenience of managing all your stores from one place, and features like unified reporting won’t be available. You might also need to export your data and set up each store again. So, migrating to Basic Shopify means less control if you have multiple stores.
