All things Shopify and commerce
Shopify Payments is a great solution for having multi-currency on the site, but unfortunately, it is not available in many countries.
The alternate solution might be with third party app which will adjust the displayed prices based on exchange rates, while a payment gateway that supports multi-currency will handle the actual transaction.
However, a potential challenge is that currency converter apps and payment gateways often pull exchange rate data from different sources, which can result in slight discrepancies in the final amount.
Does anyone have a workable solution for this?
A workable solution for multi-currency support without Shopify Payments is to use a currency converter app (like BEST Currency Converter or GeoIP Currency Converter) alongside a payment gateway that natively supports multi-currency transactions (such as PayPal, Adyen, or Stripe in supported regions). To minimize discrepancies, choose a currency converter app that allows manual exchange rate adjustments or syncs closely with your payment gateway’s rates. Additionally, displaying a disclaimer about potential currency fluctuations at checkout can help manage customer expectations regarding final pricing.
@raufaamir If Stripe or Adyen is available, that’s your best choice to accept multi currency payments. Otherwise, use a currency converter app.
That's wrong answer. The multi-currency functionality is locked and can be work only with Shopify Payments. All others are stuck with multi-currency only on the store (by using apps), but NO way to work for the checkout. The checkout still shows USD.
