Hello to all the diligent business owners!
As an ecommerce business, how much money do you spend on Facebook and Google advertising?

I became  new owner of our family-owned business due to a hure tragedy: my husband died of Covid in September 2021. Basically overnight I became an widow, a single mother, and the manager of the business.
The high cost of the marketing keeps me broke. It takes up 50-60% of our revenue!...

I've searched the internet for solutions and only today realized that asking for advice here is the best place to do it because we have thousands of experienced ecommerce business owners.
Please share your experiences, and if you are very pleased with your marketing staff, please tell me who they are. You can post info here or email me at: select4sharp@gmail.com.  I desperately need some help and sound advice in order to keep our family-owned business afloat and grow it someday. This is the only source of income for my children and me.

Thank you!
Valentina

First of all, I'm very sorry for your loss. I think 50-60% of revenue is quite high and is pretty uncommon from what I have seen. I would suggest doing some research and investing more time into social media as that is the easiest way to gain leads and customers. I think the quality of your marketing is much more important than the amount spent on it. You can use AI tools to help with your social media content creation and management which are either free or cost very little compared to more traditional methods. Two that I have found to be helpful are Publer (which helps manage social media content) and Breeze.AI (which is a product photo transformation tool) both of these have saved me money and time. All of this being said I would not immediately stop spending on what you have been spending on as that is too much of a risk. I hope this helps and that everything goes well for you!

So sorry for your loss. I think you should be able to optimise your marketing costs further down.

I recommend you take a look at Spreeflo for email automation. Spreeflo looks at your customer segments and prepares hyper-personalised marketing emails for your customers. Every email is uniquely crafted for the customer by the app. It'll save you a lot of time but it's also constantly be working in the background to help acquire new sales from your existing customers. It includes abandoned cart recovery, brand promotion, product recommendations, and discount code emails. I just spend several minutes on the app to review the generated email copies every day and am able to dispatch personalised emails to hundreds of customers.
It fulfils many of your marketing needs at an affordable price.
