What's the best app for accurate multi-package shipping calculations?

Hello! We're setting up our Shopify account. We sell multiple products and all have different weights and dimensions. Based on what I've seen, Shopify only allows for one size of shipping/weight. What is the best app to use to be able to calculate accurate shipping costs for multiple packages with different weights and dimensions?

Hi Jammer, 

I have the same issue and i haven't been able to solve it. So far what i know is that you have to choose between doing free shipping (which it will affect your finances). Flat rate shipping, (same thing with free shipping you will be paying in some cases from the shipping) or get an app. 

When you get an app (as far as i understood) you will lose the Shopify discount and you will be paying for membership.

When you try to set the shipping, you will need to add a package size, and Shopify BIGGEST ISSUE is that they only recognize ONE package size as a default for all orders.

Yes... only one. So all your shipping rates are going to be wrong. 

I have spoken with 3 support team advisors, one Shopify expert who told me that they cannot help me.. and today is my fourth day trying to figure out. If you get any help, please let me know at hello@borphosisinterior.com

This is so disappointing. I am wondering if we made the right decision by using Shopify. I knew we couldn't be the only ones with this problem.

Still trying to figure this out in April 2024. Shopify doesn't even have a place to add dimensions, and any external app would mean us going in and back-adding thousands of items.  And we'd lose the Shopify discounted shipping rates. I can assign each item in my inventory to a specific box (SOOOO time consuming) but then all that effort for naught when a person buys multiples.
