Please can someone explain the difference between Shopify Email versus Notifications because I am so confused!
Where should abandoned cart emails be sent from? Where should a welcome email to a customer who has just purchased a product come from? From Shopify Email or Notifications?
The fact that there is an option for Campaigns and Automations under Marketing as well as Campaigns and Automations under the Shopify Email app are all just adding to the confusion. I'm not sure which one to use.

Email notifications (that can be edited in the shopify admin settings under the notifications tab - e.g abandoned cart and order confirmation) are sent automatically when things happen in your store such as an order is placed.
The Shopify email app is an email marketing app offered by Shopify to send optional campaigns (such as announcements) to your customers and you can also setup custom automations to send additional emails to your customers should you want to.
If you are looking to edit the notifications sent to your customers, you should do this in the notifications tab and edit the code there. The Shopify email app is separate.

forgive me for chiming in. further to the notifications. where are the automatic thank you emails hiding these days. i thought they were in the email notifications along with abandoned cart and order confirmation.
how do i check if these are even still sending.

I am aware of the 'Thank you page'. But have not come across an email. Unless this is a custom one you set up for your own store using an automation?
