What's the fix for the multiple email issue in digital downloads?

There is currently a fault on Digital Downloads. When you upload a new product, there is an option to send an email to everyone who has previously downloaded it. Unfortunately, following a recent update, Shopify send one email to everyone for each time that they have previously downloaded it - this can result in customers receiving dozens of identical emails.


I have reported this to Shopify but, so far as I know, there is no date for this to be fixed. This important feature is currently unusable, and I urgently need a date.


I'm writing here so that other users become aware of this issue, which (as you can imagine) has really upset some of my customers.

We had the same problem - some people received 90 emails - This did not happen before. :-(. Need a fix ASAP. @Shopify any chance of a fix? or alternative recommendation. Thanks.

Hi Shopify technical support, I reported this over a year ago and it hasn't been resolved, meaning that I cannot reach out to any of my customers with updates.
