What to do if DPD has delivered the parcel outside the door and Customer sais they do not have it

Hello, 

 

I hope you are all well. 

 

I just wanted to see if anyone has had the same experience. 

 

We posted a parcel to the customer and DPD delivered it within 2 days. The Customer comes back 10 days later and say they do not have it. 

 

They quote Consumer Rights Act 2015, the 14 days delivery time , that there is no safe space to leave it etc and wants the money back. 

 

The proof of posting is from the parcel outside next to the door and the door is closed. 

 

Please could anyone let me know how they have dealt with this issue as in this moment in time it looks like us as a small business will need to refund the customer even though we have done nothing wrong.
