When can I expect my 1099-K form to be uploaded?

Hello!

when are 1099-k forms being uploaded? Aren’t they supposed to be available by January 31? 

last year o didn’t receive mine until February 15th and I really do not want to wait that long to file my taxes this year. 

is there anyway that I can request a copy of my 1099-k before it is available in my Shopify account?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I'm happy to provide some information regarding 1099-K forms, to ensure this gets resolved.

As @Niyeepo mentioned, the 1099-K form is typically sent to merchants that qualify towards the end of January and into early February. While there is no specific date or way to receive this form earlier, the Store Owner can keep an eye out for our email. 

Emails will be sent to the Store Owners email address, and only the Store Owner can find the form within the Shopify admin. If you don't receive an email within this time frame and believe you qualify for the form, please feel free to Contact Support directly.

Hi there. I have now spoken to multiple Shopify agents. First I was told by end of day Jan 31st, which is now past. Now I’m being told by Feb 11th. I was also informed that Shopify has received an extension on the federal deadline. But when I asked where I could find that information I was simply ghosted. As merchants we are following the laws and deadlines for forms and taxes. But that is hard to do when Shopify doesn’t. If Shopify has been given a legal extension on the federal deadline the LEAST they can do is inform the merchants. There are now several chats on the forums of a class action lawsuit due to this.  

can you please inform or direct me (and many others) where Shopify was given this extension?

This is what Shopify does every year.... last year it was the same story, "we are such a big company we have to issue so many of these we have to file an extension".... meanwhile ebay, amazon, paypal, ect can issue it like clockwork by the 31st year after year.

Exactly! I’m so sick of Shopify! It’s just so frustrating!

So I'm assuming you still have not recieved your 1099. I too have been on chats ect trying to get my information straight since July of last year and no one answers anything. They all act nice and say they will help but they don't. I also have another business for 15 yrs that runs through paypal and when I need assistance I call and can speak to a person who can resolve my issues within minutes, and have never failed to upload the 1099 on time..

It is happening again this year. I have a large group of fellow business owners who are also receiving the run around. Many in which have appointments with their accountants which now have to be canceled. About 31k in the group and many use Shopify. With the amount of fees paid we should be receiving documents on time. I, like many others are looking into other platforms. We created a chat where many are filing complaints with their AG office. Much larger companies are able to get their documents out on time, yet Shopify continues to drop the ball.
