Thanks for reaching out.

 

It may be possible that the PayPal gateway was having issues checking out due to the cache on your browser. Did you happen to have any customers reach out to you about this, by any chance?

I would suggest attempting to clear the cache on the browser and try this action once again. If the issue persists, you can try to use a separate browser - as for example, if you are using Safari try this on Google Chrome.

 

Let me know if that does the trick.

Hi, I have cleared cashe still cannot connect Paypal to my Shopify store, it is saying active but customers cannot use paypal. Comes up as "there was an issue with PayPal. try again or use a different payment method " Love to hear your thoughts?

Further to my comments, I have deactivated and reactivated several times to no avail. I am using Chrome.

I am also getting the same issue i.e. whenever any customer tries to checkout with paypal on my shopify store an error occurred "There was an issue with PayPal. Try again or use a different payment method.". Did you guys got any resolution for this?

We aren't seeing any other reports of merchants experiencing this issue, and we'd recommend following our guide on Setting up PayPal Express. However, if the problem continues to persist, then it looks like we'll need to access your account in order to resolve the issue. Hi! Came here because I had the same issue for my store but it is resolved now. Sharing in case it is the same for some of you- it turns out my PayPal setup was incomplete and I followed the steps here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/payments/paypal/set-up-paypal?utm_campaign=social_care&utm_medium...

 

Customer was able to complete payment, hope this helps!
