All things Shopify and commerce
Hi, I cant seem to find an answer on this very simple question. Im filling in my form on my site and Im getting an email with the details, but the contact details arent being stored in my customer list? Do they go somewhere else until the person becomes a customer? Ideally I need to replace this form with a Mailchimp form as all my automation will be done in Mailchimp. (Unless I can get this work)
Is there an area in shopify where the form entries go?
@SimonIredale May this help you. Click Here.
Yes Ive red that, it reads 'sends to email' which as I said above is ok, but as someone whos used Hubspot and Mailchimp etc, all form entries go 'into' the CRM. Im asking if the form entries get stored in the shopify CRM. rather than emailed.
Hello Simon, I came here looking for the exact same thing.... thinking surely shopify stores this somewhere, especially now that there is marketing integration built in to shopify...
I am wondering if you found a definitive answer or did you go for a third party CRM ?
Thank you
Has anyone ever answered this simple question?
I need this too. where is the database located so I can at least export it?
Just click "view segment" usually the submissions turn into customers
Same - I was using WuFoo Forms prior; but this new facility app sounded better than redirecting to a new form page. But where does the data go? The forwarding emails are incomplete and do not replicate the confirmation of data completed, and I cannot find where in Shopify this information is being stored for export. Just seems to vanish!?!
So, still no answer here?
Seriously, easy things seem very hard... What is the answer? Please don't convince me of going back to Wix, ugh!!! I'm trying to create a custom form (no problems yet with that), however since I cannot figure out the answer to the above question, I was thinking I'd send my form post data to an external endpoint, and save that data there (in that database), yet again, I cannot find information on how to do that either... Which leads me back to this question. If I can access the saved form data in some way, I'd be able to transact with it and do what I have to do...
Updated... According to Chat GPT
Shopify is a hosted e-commerce platform, and it manages the storage and processing of data on its own servers. When a customer submits a form on a Shopify store (such as a contact form or a checkout form), the data is processed and stored securely within the Shopify infrastructure.
The specific location and technical details of data storage are internal to Shopify and not disclosed to the public to ensure security and compliance with privacy regulations. Shopify takes data security seriously and implements measures to protect customer and merchant information.
If you have specific questions about data storage, security, or compliance with regulations, it's recommended to review Shopify's official documentation or reach out to Shopify Support for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Just click "view segment" usually the submissions turn into customers
It will appear in the email that is connected to the account you can see it by going to setting>store details> then go to the email that is connected hope that helped
I had the same problem but was able to find the information by creating a SEGMENT under CUSTOMERS. When someone completes a form a record is created in Customers and to view these records I create a segment by filtering on the shopify tag "forms" (there is also another tag created that matches the specific form completed, it will be something like shopify-forms-XXXXX so if you have multiple forms you can filter on a specific form). I hope that helps.
thanks for this tip, I'm trying to replicate it but unable find the 'shopify tag "forms"' - see attached - this is how I was trying to create this segment.
Hey @SimonIredale
Shopify contact form entries are sent to your store's sender email address. You can change this in the Notifications settings of your Shopify admin. For more, see Notifications settings.
Shopify do not store contact form entries in shopify admin area.
Thanks
