Google has suspended my merchant center account and they're asking for a GTIN or MPN.
I've been looking and asking but no one seems to be able to provide it. Is there a GTIN or MPN online generator? How can I resolve this issue?
Thank you
A GTIN, is a barcode assigned by a manufacturer on the product packaging. If no bar code exist, do not self assign, create, or randomly buy bar codes. This is not allowed.
Same for the MPN, this is a manufacturer part number, this is not the same as SKU and the value for MPN should only be the value you have received from the manufacturer.
It is tempting to go the easy route and buy fake data. This decision will make you regret it as you may get suspended.

And best practice is:
When submitting product identifiers the following should be applied.
If a manufacturer has assigned a bar code, then submit brand, mpn (if available), GTIN and set identifier exists to yes.
If the manufacturer has not assigned a bar code, then remove the values brand, mpn, gtin and set identifier exists to no.
While the official documentation does mention you can submit brand + mpn and ignore GTIN. In the majority of cases this will cause issues and will generate warnings such as limited performance due to missing identifiers.
A secondary reason for issues is that most merchants tend to use SKU as the MPN values, which is not correct.
SKU stands for “stock keeping unit” and — as the name suggests — it is a number (usually eight alphanumeric digits) that retailers assign to products to keep track of stock levels internally.
An MPN, or manufacturer part number is a manufacturer-assigned, unique, alphanumeric value that is used to identify a product among other products from the same manufacturer.
Hello,
I sell gift baskets so I do not have GTIN or MPN numbers.
I marked my products as custom but Google rejects my feed.
Is there a solution?
Thank you!
Go to Google Merchant Center > Products > Diagnostics and view the rejection reason.
I have the same question re: Gift Sets. The google merchant center says it is rejecting it because it doesn't have a UPC. How do I work around this?
If the product does not have a barcode, and the gift set was created by the manufacturer. Then don't assign brand, mpn, gtin and set identifier exists to no.
If you have created the gift set, then check the items you have included and use the barcode of the main item in the gift set. And set is_bundle to yes
