Which domain do I need for Shopify, GoDaddy or the personalized one?

Hello,

I am confused about my Domains. I initially purchased a Domain from GoDaddy and after that I went to create a Shopify account, and if I remember correctly I entered the Domain I purchased from GoDaddy but when talking to them, they told me the Doamin I purchased from there doesn't go anywhere. Somehow I thought this was link and needed for my Shopify store. My confusion is that I also purchased a personalized Domain from Shopify. My question is, do I need both or just the domain I both from Shopify. Thank you!!

The answer is YES! Shopify website owners offer the option to purchase a custom domain for your online store. Or else, there are other domain registrars also available in the industry that will give you domain registration services in cheaper cost than GoDaddy.

Thank you for replying but my question is.... Do I need to have GoDaddy's domain and my personalized Shopify Domain. The GoDaddy's domain has my actual legal store name while Shopify's domain has my favorite store name. Thanks

Thank you for replying. I am not sure if I did or not and I am very confused because of the new regulations. I would like to request a call from someone at Shopify. Do you know how can I request a call? Thanks!

Looking into this, if you have a GoDaddy domain and would like to connect it to your Shopify store - we have a great guide available here with step-by-step instructions. Additionally, you can purchase a domain directly from the Shopify platform and have multiple domains connected to your store. However, when you navigate to Settings > Domains, you will need to pick which domain will be your primary domain that will be displayed in the address bar when your visitors navigate to your store. 
 
With that being said, if you would like to speak with our live support, you will need to navigate to our Help Center. Once you arrive at the Help Center, you will need to make the virtual assistant aware that you would like to Speak with support and you will be connected with a Support Advisor accordingly.

Thank you for the reply. I still have questions, so I will be talking to someone on the chat. Last time they didn’t help me with my questions. I don’t think she really knew how to help me. I will try again. Too bad Shopify doesn’t allow us talk to a real person unless we pay extra for Real Customer Service.
