Which is better for Google rankings in 2024: specific or general collections?

Hi,

Is it better for collections to be more specific with less products or more general with more products and then just using a filter instead?

Example being for instance a general category "tables"  and more specific category "wooden tables"

What is better for Google rankings in 2024?

You don't need an app for now. You can just duplicate your theme - call it A/B Test - Collection 1  and A/B Test - Collection 2

Modify each theme and make sure to update the menu, banners etc...

And manually switch between these themes daily or weekly period.  Do this for as long as you want, maybe until you see better results or confirm which one is producing better sales.

@danmarsh Why not create both and test whats produces better results?

Create a collection for tables.
and create a collection of wooden tables, steel tables, plastic tables etc...
Try A/B testing and whichever produces better results in terms of revenue and traffic should be the better option.  This is what we do for our clients because to have good results you will need a lot of a/b tests and experiments.

Thank you for your help!

Do you recommend an app for a/b testing on shopify?
