Why am I getting a shipping error when buying multiple items from my print on demand store?

Why am I getting a shipping error when buying multiple items from my print on demand store?

Hello everyone!

I hope you are feeling very well today.

I would like to know how I can correct some problems that I am experiencing when purchasing more than 2 items in my store.

1-) My store is made based on "Print on Demand" model.

2-) My store is from Colombia, but the supplier of my products is located in the United States. Currently, I am trying to fine-tune the sales, market, shipping and delivery details. However, when I try to make a purchase (from Colombia) of more than two items to verify that everything is going well, I get the following error message on the payment screen:

"SHIPPING IS NOT AVAILABLE/The items in your cart do not meet the price or weight requirements to qualify for shipping. Please modify your cart and try again."

3-) Continuing with the above, I have already established the shipping prices in each market to which I direct my products. However, when trying to make the transaction, the payment screen shows a different amount in the payment method section, different from the one I set.

I don't know what could be happening. I will be leaving the image of the error that the page generates. Could you advise me on this? How can I fix it?

I would thank you a lot. ❤

In order to help you here, you'd need to provide a link to your store + an example shipping address + screenshots of your shipping settings.

Without any specific details to see/test, my gut instinct here is that you probably don't have inclusive shipping rates.

For example, if you're doing price-based rates, they need to include all possible prices.

Ex.

$0.00-$20 = $10 shipping

$20.01-$50 = $20 shipping

$50.01+ = FREE SHIPPING

The above would be an example of "inclusive" shipping rates (ex. all values are accounted for).

If you have a gap in your shipping rates, something like this:

$0.00-$20 = $10 shipping

$21-$50 = $20 shipping

$51+ = FREE SHIPPING

... then if a customer tries to order something that's $20.50 ... then there wouldn't be any shipping rates for them to choose, as there's a gap between $20 and $21.

Another possible issue could be that you don't have all of the countries you wish to ship to as part of the shipping zone that you have your rates set for ... or you may have multiple shipping zones (for different countries/regions) but not have the shipping rates set up correctly for each shipping zone.

If you could provide some screenshots and examples, then I can try to help further! 🙂

Hi Stephen,

I'm facing the same issue for my clothing business. I'm located in Canada and have chosen Canada Post for our shipping.

Our first launch is on 21 May and whenever I add more than 2 pieces of apparel in the cart, displays the error message

"SHIPPING IS NOT AVAILABLE/The items in your cart do not meet the price or weight requirements to qualify for shipping. Please modify your cart and try again."

Our original item weight is around 1-1.5 kg per piece. When I changed the item weight to 0, it allowed adding more than 2 and shipping was calculated then.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the weight?

I have not specified maximum weight anywhere.

The shipping method type I use is - Shopify default backup rates

Shipping per weight or per item price does not work for our products and I'd prefer Shopify default backup rates to work please.

I did read this somewhere but upon following the links could not understand anything.

"Note

If you are using Canada Post to ship internationally and you don't see shipping rates being displayed when fulfilling an order, then your packaging might not meet the requirements defined by Canada Post. For more information, see Parcel Services Shipping to the U.S.A. and to International Destinations."

Could you please help with a solution because my launch is in a day and cannot afford this error.

Thank you for your assistance!

Can you share some screenshots of your current shipping rates setup?

Admin > Settings > Shipping > Click into your shipping profile > screenshot the current rates

It sounds like you don't have any rates set for greater than 1.5kg in weight.

The rates you set are for the order as a whole -- not individual products. So if each of your products weigh 1.5kg, and you don't have a shipping rate set up for more than 1.5kg ... then that means there won't be any shipping rates available for customers to choose if they purchase 2 products (ie. total of 3kg in weight).

StephensWorld this seems to be your copy and paste answer for the same question. I've been having the same issue as the person who made this thread. I keep seeing your repsonse, I keep trying your ideas and they don't work. I'm still having this same issue. I can ship to anywhere in canada, but as soon as it's a bunch of items (and larger weight) it will not even let me ship locally. I've tried purchasing things myself from my own website and it will not allow me to ship.

"Items in the cart do not meet price or weight requirements to qualify for shipping. Update your cart and try again."

Can you suggest something other than the same copy and paste answer? thank you.

Sure thing! You should hire a Shopify Partner to setup the shipping rates for you; because there's no way to help you without screenshots of your setup ... and the passive-aggressive 'copy and paste' comments aren't helping your cause either.

MY passive-aggressive response was an actual question for you! Do you have any other IDEAS besides the one I keep seeing. You didn't have to be so rude in your response, I wanted another solution NOT the one I KEEP SEEING you post. But with your response and other issues as of late, I'm starting to think that SHOPIFY isn't the way to go, I will be looking at other alternatives, unless someone can acutally help me. How was that for passive-aggressiveness?
