SORRY THIS IS LONG BUT I NEED HELP (Making Sales but losing money) !!!
Hi! I've been getting tons of abandoned checkouts and a good amount of sales daily, however i've noticed that a lot of customers in the abandoned checkouts have filled out literally everything required to purchase (email, phone number, address, billing address, shipping option, etc) but without actually converting. Out of the last 155 checkouts initiated on my store I have only had 15 purchases. This is very strange as on the same days the previous week I had 57 purchases from 136 checkouts initiated and the week before that I had 39 from 80. I haven't changed anything in the checkout process since last week and I'm still advertising exactly the same products. I've just placed an order myself to test it and it went through without any problems but I'm wondering if some customers are experiencing problems. I've spoken to a Shopify support agent and they couldn't identify ANY problem. I know there are always ups and downs but this seems extreme. I only have free shipping available btw. What i am confused about is that in my personal experience and many relatives and friends i've asked is that once i get to the point of inputing all of my personal and payment info i would have already made my decision on buying the product from the website and it would be highly unlikely for me to back out at that point. Have any of you guys ran into a similar problem and fixed it? Or is it normal to have this many people put in ALL of their information in the checkout and not purchase in the last second? (I do have some what i would consider "normal abandoned checkouts" which would say in the notes section for example, "card declined, insufficient funds" or just nothing with no personal info at all just window shoppers looking around my shop)
