Why are my admin menu items grayed out on multiple platforms?

When I sign on to Shopify Admin, the menu items are grayed out.  I've tried on chrome browser (cleared cache from last 7 days), Chrome Incoginito, MS Edge, and the Shopify App on Android (the dashboard does not display).  The store itself is working just fine.  Started advertising the store today...need some help.

This is an accepted solution.

I logged on later in the day the the problem was gone.  Same browser, same everything.

Correction.  All menu items work on the app, just not the dashboard

Hey, @Mark0912! Welcome to Shopify Community!

I'd love to help you with the issue you're encountering in your admin. Upon reading your concern, two possible causes came to mind. I'll explain each one below.

  1. You could be logging into your store on the browser through a staff member account with limited permissions.
    • If you're not the account owner of the store, the account owner may have created a staff member account for you that doesn't have access to all the areas in the admin. If this is the case, please reach out to the account owner about the permissions. If they need to adjust them, you may share this guide.
    • If somebody else created the store for you (e.g. a Shopify Expert or developer), they may have set you as a staff member instead of an account owner. If you are the store owner, you must be set as the account owner to have access. You may share this guide with the developer to transfer the store ownership.
  2. You may be encountering a local issue.
    • While the local troubleshooting steps you tried performing didn't fix the issue, there are a few more additional steps I recommend you try before you rule out or confirm the possibility of this being caused by a local issue. In addition to what you've done so far, feel free to try the following:

If you've ensured that you're logging in as the account owner or you have the right permissions and you've also performed the troubleshooting steps but the issue still isn't fixed, the next step is for us to investigate the issue. In order for us to do so we'll need to access your account. While we’re not able to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community at this time, we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chat, email, or callback. Please visit https://bit.ly/3cJkx8V and log in to your account to create a support request.
