All things Shopify and commerce
Hi, my store just isn't doing the business it should, then I came across this:
Further investigation revealed:
Each listing has an SKU, a barcode & Alt Text. There isn't an option to add any of these three things (gtin, mpn, brand) in the bulk lister. What have I done wrong?
TIA
Hey @TellyTubby
The GTIN and MPN are the Barcode field in Shopify which can be modified in the bulk editor.
This article explains the GTIN, MPN and Shopfiy: https://www.ilanadavis.com/blogs/articles/using-advanced-product-data-in-shopify-to-help-your-seo-an...
Once you add the barcode field, you also need to make sure the GTIN/MPN and brand are included in your structured data. If you email me at support@ilanadavis.com I can do a free structured data audit to see if my app, JSON-LD for SEO could help you, or if your theme already provides the structured data needed.
I am very interested in learning more about your app and if it would work with my website and if it will fix google problems.
Hey @ezquilting
It looks like you are showing the unique product identifiers in structured data so I'm not sure if you're seeing a different issue with Google.
Feel free to email me at support@ilanadavis.com and share the issues you're seeing with Google. I'd be happy to tell you if the app could help or not.

SKU is a stock keep unit.
MPN is a manufacturer part number.
Both are not the same.
In Google merchant center check that the barcodes you have added, are indeed submitted. It is common that the Google Channel app does not submit correct data.
Check in Google merchant center > products > all products > click on a product > scroll to the bottom and view the final attributes. If it's missing then it's an app issue.
Then in this case you need to contact Shopify support to resolve the issue.
