Why aren't meta-fields on my product page working properly?

Dear all

 

We are still facing the issue, that we are not able to properly select predefined meta-fields for our product page content, as already stated here by many guests: dawn-theme-custom-collapsible-row-content-for-products 

We are using collapsible rows on our product page and want to define meta-variables to change for example the material, washing-instructions, size-chart etc. directly on the product page within shopify.

Currently we solved this by getting the content of the page by always attaching a new page for each product.

 

All buttons for "connect dynamic source" do not show any defined meta-fields.

In this scenario I would need access to your store to debug this. Please let me know if you are comfortable in giving access to me for the store so that I look into this once?

KaalTechGeeks reached out to me and requested a collaborators permission through Shopify. He was able to solve the issue within hours!
I don't know how he did it, but it worked. In case you have the same issue...contact him through private message.

Hello Twelvetia, 

In order to ensure that you are able to select the metafields from the customization settings of the section. You need to ensure that you have followed the below steps: 

1. Create a metafield for the product with selecting the appropriate "type" from the dropdown of metafields type [Screenshot]. Like in your case you want to use metafield for populating the row content field, then the type selected should be either richtext or Multi-line text. 
Please check the ex of the metafield I added:

2. Once you have added a metafield, now go to customization settings for the product page, and add the collapsible row block. Click on the Dynamic source button and select the template type to product as shown in the image below and click on the save button.

3. Now select the metafield which you created and will have the content. Like in my case it was 'Collapsible row content', as highlighted in the screenshot:

4. Done ? Now add the metafield values from the product page and save it.

5. Now preview the theme and you would be able to see the metafields values.

Thank you for your respond. In our product information and collapsible row we don't see any button to link with a dynamic source as you stated, see picture.
