Why can't I access Shopify Admin using Chrome?

Hello,

 

Whenever I try to access any shopify admin with chrome (not only my shop, also the ones of clients) I only get the left sidebar and a white center or this text: 

 

Beim Laden dieser Seite ist ein Problem aufgetreten.

Es gibt ein technisches Problem mit Shopify, das das Laden dieser Seite verhindert hat. Lade diese Seite neu oder gehe auf eine andere Seite in Shopify. Wenn das nicht funktioniert, besuche bitteStatusseite(öffnet ein neues Fenster)für Updates und versuche es später erneut.
 
This started happening some months ago. I switched to safari and there I still could access everything. But its a pain in the arse and also now a plugin I try to use does not work with safari.
 
What causes this problem and how do I fix it?
Using Chrome Version 103.0.5060.134 (Offizieller Build) (x86_64) on a MacOS Monterey 12.4
 
This happens with cleared cache and also in incognito windows.
 
Please help me

I understand you're experiencing issues using Google Chrome when trying to access your website. For better visibility, could you share your store URL in this thread? I'd like to see if we're able to replicate the issue you're experiencing. This may be a local issue as you're able to access your website on Safari but not Google Chrome.

 

I'd like to share some additional troubleshooting methods from the ones you've tried already to help rule out what is causing this.

 

Troubleshooting Steps:

 

  • Ensure the web browser is up to date on the latest version (we don't support every browser, but we do support these ones)
  • Try another device, like another computer or mobile phone.
  • Try on the Shopify Mobile app; this is usually the best step to try as it also rules out device issues.
  • Try another internet connection (switching to a cellular network on a phone rather than wifi, for example)
  • Ensure you do not have any firewalls or pop-up blockers enabled on the device as these can interfere.

 

Could you also share some insight on what kind of online business you have? I'd love to learn more and offer applicable resources to help you out.

Hello,

 

Thank you for your response. I already ruled out things that you suggest:

 

  • my browser is up to date on the latest version
  • its not the internet connection since its working on another browser
  • I don't want to test it on another machine since this is the only machine I can use for this
  • I also don't want to use the mobile app

I already explained, its not a problem with a specific shop, it is happening with every shop that I have access to.

 

Edit: I found the issue. It was my Ghostery tracker plugin. God knows why. What trackers does Shopify need to load the admin interface??

I'm glad you were able to identify that the ad blocker Ghostery tracker was causing issues. Could you please clarify what you mean by what tracker does Shopify need to load the admin interface
