I previously had no problems adding 3 variant options to my products (size, colour and quantity) but with 2 products, it is not giving me the option to add BOTH size and colour options as I could with other products. So now, 1 product has size and no colour and the other product has colour and no size!
When I go to the product admin, under Variants, it says "add variant" but that is just taking me to the EXISTING variant option, and not allowing me to create a NEW variant option. So I click on "More Options" > Edit Options and it takes me to a pop up box with a button that says "Add another option" I click on that button create the colour option but when I go to add the colour variants and put a comma after entering the first colour, it comes up with a red error notice as follows
"You can only add 1 variant at a time. Remove commas and try again"
So I added one colour in that option, but then I have to keep creating more colour options to add each variant. It stopped doing it after adding 2 colours, when I need to add 15 colours.
Why is it not allowing me to add any more variants within colour? Is this some problem with Shopify admin?
And why are these 2 product pages not giving me the option to add variant options like the other products where I had no problems?
I have tried getting round the problem by using external apps to add product variations but their variant layout looks terrible and not ordered and neat like the shopify variant layout in 1 column and 3 rows placed in the correct location on the page, unlike the apps.
So how do I solve this problem? The Shopify agent I spoke to wasn't helpful as she just referred me to those apps without referring the matter to Shopify tech team to solve the basic problem within Shopify.
Should I just delete the product page and try again so that I can enter 3 Variant options AND be able to add all the variations within each option?
I'd appreciate any assistance to resolve this matter as it has been dragging on without any solution.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble adding your variant options and didn't have a good experience while chatting with our Support. If you're not exceeding the 100 variant limit by adding the new options, then it does sound like the is an issue with the admin. If your product does exceed the 100 variant, then you will need to use a product options app.
You could try making the product again to see if that resolves the issue, however; this would be something our Technical Support can look into. I would recommend reaching out to Shopify Support again, explaining that the issue isn't with exceeding the 100 variant limit, but rather not being able to add new variant options.
To contact Shopify support, you will need to log in to your store through the help center, searching your question/issue, then selecting "continue" at the bottom of the page that displays the search results.
