Under settings, the language still says it's English as default and the categories used to be in English, they just randomly changed to Chinese and I don't know how to change them back.
Your product categories have suddenly changed to Chinese and your language settings are still set to English in Shopify, it might be a glitch or an issue with the data. Contact Shopify Support to investigate the problem and help you resolve it

Having same problem and glad I'm not alone! I also briefly saw categories change to Spanish. Let's hope it's just a glitch!

I'm frustrated with Shopify. they are making interface changes and things are just not working well. They need to go back to the way it was.

Having the same problem as well. Is this something that Shopify will be looking into and fixing? Sounds like a Shopify issue.
Having the same problem! Have also been trying to import new products but the the categories automatically changes into Chinese even though they were written in English

Another one of my Shopify friends is online with Shopify. They say it is a glitch and they are working on it but no timeline on the fix. 🙄

Same issue here - it was fine yesterday. This seems to be a system-wide Shopify glitch.
Same, glad to see it isn't just me, I was like... What in the heck just happened.
This is the response from Shopify Support:
"Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are currently experiencing issues with the product category language, and our developers are actively working on a solution. We will send you a follow-up email once the issue has been resolved. "
same issue in all our stores. sometimes it changes to a different language as well—8k products.
We're having the same issue too - at first we thought it was due to a VPN issue but it isn't that. I guess we aren't adding any more products to the store today until this is fixed!

Same here! Been in line for over 40 mins waiting to chat with support. I'd say their teams of Devs are probably on it trying to fix it!

Seems to be back to normal for me at least! - in California and needed it to be in english
System wide defect. They just fixed it.
