Why do vendors ask you to "allow them" to email you?

Everyday I get emails from vendors proclaiming my site is not ranking in search and there are numerous errors that they can fix. However, they all say the same thing "will you allow us to send you a report of the errors?". They emailed me to try to sell me on their service, why would they not just email me the error report? Is there some scam that I am not aware of that if I allow them to send their report they will do something nefarious?

We would definitely recommend ignoring those types of marketing emails, as they are simply spam and junk mail. Thank you for the reply and I will avoid opening or responding to those spam emails. I will tell you that I've been very disappointed with the Shopify Partners that I have reached out to for basic suggestions and help. Almost every one of them has tried to upsell me in designing an entirely new website from scratch vs. providing solutions for my issue. In addition most are not transparent in their pricing which makes me more hesitant to use them. When asking for pricing to do a job many of them have said "What do you think it's worth?" I just want a solution to fix a problem from a reputable partner who offers truly transparent pricing. End of rant.
