Why does this link return 404 error?

We are talking about a simple link. The link returns a 404 error. Why?

I contacted Shopify support. But to my surprise, they do not have the technical ability to resolve this issue. They advised me to try the forum or hire an expert. So can someone tell me what I am doing wrong or why the link does not work right.

The link is configured on a product page template using this html block:

This is the handle for the reference page:

My guess is the link is not formatted correctly. But I do not know what I am doing wrong. Or maybe it's returning a 404 error because the shop is not yet "live" (i.e. you need a password to enter the shop).

Suggestions?

This is an accepted solution.

Figured it out. The text "pages/" needs to appear before the page name (pages/wholesale-signup). I'm not a techie. Why Shopify tech support could not figure that out is beyond me.

Thank you for your comments. Problem solved: The reason the link returned a 404 error is because the text "pages/" needs to appear in the URL before the page name (pages/wholesale-signup).
