Why does my checkout display 'too many attempts' error on phone orders?

Hey ,

          I am getting this weird issue of Shopify store saying too many attempts on checkout when we place phone orders for customers using the front end of our website . Easy time we either need to clear up cache or use browser incognito mode to place phone orders for customers you need assistance with. I have tried to contact support a few times but no response yet please can anyone assist

Luna here, from the Shopify team. Thank you for sharing your experience in the Community forum. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had some difficulties with your checkout. I’m more than happy to look into this with you. 

May I ask what browser you are using (eg., safari, chrome)? You mentioned that clearing the cache or going into incognito solves the issue temporarily. For some more context, how long does that last? 

It is also worth repeating these steps on another device completely. This will help to determine if the issue is with the browser or checkout. If the same issue is occurring on multiple devices, we can bring it to our technical team right away. 

In the meantime, when taking an order from a customer over the phone you can use our Draft order feature. This allows you to run payments through the backend and send invoices to your customers. When you accept a payment, an order is then created for it on the Orders page. To learn more, check out a great tutorial here

Hey,
Thanks for your reply. We have tested this issues on mac and
windows pc on different computers and different locations accross our
office and home pc’s on chrome browser and still get the same result. This
issue started some 2 months ago. Its not at all related just to pc issue.
On incognito mode the checkout allows just to put order once and shows
error when we try to place the next order. Plz assist

We are also having this issue and have tested over multiple devices/it is affecting multiple customers so we are wondering if a fix has been made by Shopify yet?
