Why does the item price change when added to the cart?

When an item is added to the cart, and the you proceed to the checkout, Shopify seems to be deducting about 5.88% off the price. We have a discount code running, but this issue is not tied to that code. I have checked and even when not using the code, the price changes once added to the cart. For example, a $20 item is added to the cart - it shows $20.

When you proceed to the checkout, the price then becomes $18.82 without having entered any code.

Has this happened to anyone and how do I fix this issue?

That is very odd - that product price that shows in the cart should remain the same in the checkout. I would only increase when shipping/tax is added, or decrease if a discount code has been applied. Can I ask if you have any tax overrides or exemptions added to any of your products? Just to rule those out for troubleshooting! Also, could you share a link to your store so I can test out the checkout? I'd like to see if I am seeing the same behaviour when bringing a product to the checkout. I'm sure we can get to the bottom of this for you.

I have the same problem, I didn't use the tool, but I used a plugin yesterday, and I used a plugin that offered a 10% discount to partners. I have now uninstalled all plugins, but I still have a 6.7% discount.
