All things Shopify and commerce
Hey so I am trying to market my Dropshipping store on tiktok but on tiktok when someone click my link in the bio it says this before they enter the store.
"You're about to open a link: (Your Website Link) You're about to open an external website. Be cautious and keep your personal information safe".
This does not happen to anyone elses link when I click on their bio to their drop shipping store, it just happens to mine.
Is there any fix for this?
Hi @SunnyPlayz ,
Thank you for reaching out about this.
You may occasionally receive error or warning messages when you click on your store URL from within your TikTok app.
Since this warning message is from the TikTok app, Shopify has no control over when or why it happens. If you’d like to see if this message can be completely removed, it’s best to reach out to the TikTok support team. They can also share more context on why this message is showing up in the first place. I can confirm that I’ve personally experienced this with many links on different profiles, and after clicking to proceed, I had no issues with websites.
Presumably, the TikTok creators put these errors in place to check the links in your bio and ensure they’re not a security risk. However, I wouldn’t worry, as there is nothing wrong with your store in that sense - these warnings seem to be randomized.
If these messages are preventing you from checking if your link is working, you can try the following:
I'd also be interested to hear more about your business, what you are selling, and your sales goals for this year. Also, how do you plan to achieve your sales goals? We have an amazing dropshipping guide for 2023 here, but I would be more than happy to assist if there are any other resources I can share with you to help!

I have the same problem
Hi Sunny, I'm posting this in different threads that have the same similar issue. This most likely will be the only resolution which is very basic that no one would ever really know.
Firstly, understand this, I learned this a few years back but when it comes to TikTok, specifically when running ads, you have to add https://www. before your links or else they will most likely stop your ads because they see it as unsafe.
With this knowledge, I truly believe that if you add that in front of your website (yes the entire https://www.) then it shouldn't show that "unsafe website" message. I believe this should work as I don't have a TikTok with link in bio right now but I'm just very familiar with TikTok rules 🙂
I’m having the same issue and just tried this, unfortunately it didn’t work. I’m still needing help removing the warning as I just got accepted from TikTok for my business.
have you managed to figure it out? i still get that message
did you find anything? I'm having the same problem right now
It sounds like you're trying to promote your Dropshipping store on TikTok, but you're facing an issue with the warning message that pops up when someone clicks your link in the bio. That can be frustrating!
Hi! Did you end up finding a solution to this issue? I just received this problem today.
