All things Shopify and commerce
For a long time, I’ve been passionate about personal finance, wealth-building strategies, and helping people achieve financial freedom. Naturally, I wanted to turn this passion into something more concrete—selling money books that could make a difference. As I researched, I came across TrendingRich.com, a website that offers fantastic resources on finance and success. It sparked my idea to start a similar venture, offering curated money books that I personally believe in.
When I decided to sell money books, Shopify seemed like the ideal platform. It’s popular, customizable, and offers all the tools I needed—or so I thought. However, as I got deeper into setting up my store, I ran into some significant challenges that made the process much harder than I anticipated.
Managing multiple books with different price points, descriptions, and categories turned out to be more complicated than expected. Shopify's product management features are robust, but the learning curve was steeper than I hoped for. I found myself spending too much time trying to configure every small detail instead of focusing on sourcing and marketing my books.
While Shopify does offer various templates, I quickly realized that getting the exact look and feel I wanted for my store required more customization than their templates allowed. I wanted my store to have the same sleek, user-friendly design as TrendingRich.com, but without advanced coding skills, I found myself stuck with a less-than-perfect website. Customizing product pages, especially for showcasing book reviews and testimonials, required additional apps and fees.
One of the most frustrating challenges was Shopify’s transaction fees. In addition to the monthly subscription costs, Shopify charges extra fees unless you use their Shopify Payments system. This ate into my profits, and I found it harder to keep competitive prices on my books, which was important to attract new customers.
Shipping was another headache. I wanted to offer global shipping since money books have universal appeal. However, Shopify’s integration with shipping services didn’t always work smoothly for international orders. Setting up shipping rates for different countries became a logistical challenge I hadn’t anticipated.
Despite these challenges, I’m still committed to selling money books. I believe they have the power to transform lives, just like those featured on TrendingRich.com . I’m currently exploring alternative platforms and solutions that would make the process smoother. Whether it’s learning more about Shopify’s advanced tools or considering other e-commerce platforms, I’m determined to find a way to make this work.
If you’re passionate about financial freedom like I am, or just want to check out some amazing books on the subject, I highly recommend you visit for some inspiration.
