Hi,

My root domain for the blog page is appearing in this way https://www.xyz.com/blogs/blogs

Where in it should be like https://www.xyz.com/blogs can you help me with the reason of this and how can I fix it.

Hi, @Megha0903!

Welcome to Shopify Community.

Thanks for sharing your question with our network, I'd be glad to provide further insight into this today. Essentially the root path of /blogs is reserved by our system to point users toward your store's built-in blogging engine.

Then, when you actually set up a blog it would appear as blogs/example1. From here, let's say I published an article belonging to example1 then I can expect the path to be blogs/example1/article1. These are reserved by the system in order for the correct article to be presented and allow you to manage several blog topics under the same umbrella.

Let me know if that makes sense or if I have missed or misunderstood any part of your question.

I look forward to your reply,

Hi Olivia!

Thank you for responding to my query.

So the URL after posting a blog is appearing like this 'https://www.xyz.com/blogs/blogs/skincare-tips'

On the home page under menu when I am clicking on blog it should show "https://www.xyz.com/blogs"

And on clicking on a blog post it should be like"https://www.xyz.com/blogs/skincare-tips' "

Can you tell me how can I fix the URL.

Hello @Megha0903,

I am Gina from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $6Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot.

Follow these step-by-step instructions to fix the problem

-> Access your Shopify admin panel and log in.

-> Once you're in the Shopify admin dashboard, navigate to the left-hand menu and click on "Online Store."

-> From the submenu, select either "Blog Posts" or "Blog," depending on the version of your Shopify theme.

-> Look for the section labeled "Manage Blogs" or "Manage Blog Pages" and click on it.

-> You'll see a list of your blog pages. Locate the specific blog page that has the incorrect URL structure.

-> Click on the problematic blog page to access its settings for editing.

-> Check the current URL structure in the field labeled "Blog URL" or "Handle." It seems that the URL is set as "blogs/blogs" instead of just "blogs."

-> To correct the URL, remove the duplicate "/blogs" part from the structure, ensuring that only the desired "/blogs" ending remains.

-> Save the changes you made.

By following these steps, you should be able to fix the issue with your blog page's URL, resulting in the corrected URL format of https://www.xyz.com/blogs without the additional "/blogs" segment. Remember to verify the URL structure after saving the changes to confirm that it has been correctly updated.

Hope this helps

Gina

Thank you for getting back to me, @Megha0903, and a special thank you to our fellow user, @flareAI, for providing this additional guidance.

I do encourage you to go through the troubleshooting steps shared above, @Megha0903, and if that still does not resolve the issue I wonder if your "blog" menu link is not set up correctly or as expected.

Also make sure to double check your menu and link settings by following these steps:

  1. Head to Admin >
  2. Online Store >
  3. Navigation >
  4. Main Menu >
  5. Blog (view URL and edit here) to confirm it is pointing where you'd like it to.

Please feel free to share any screenshots with us for additional guidance.

Warm regards,
