All things Shopify and commerce
Hello!
I have set Contact Us page with the page.contact template. I have a form that seems to function, at least to the user as you can fill it in and hit the Submit button (you get a 'successfully submitted' message on the screen).
However the email does not sent, I have tried several times. Also deleting and creating the page again.
All my settings seem to be correct, the Customer email properly set too.
Please someone help me! Thank you 🙂

This is an accepted solution.
Hi everyone,
Are your stores currently on a paid shopify plan? I've worked on a few stores that the 'subscribe' and 'contact-us' page came up with the same 404 error currently on hellowcircus.com.
The problem solved itself once the store was out of development mode and onto a paid shopify plan.
So when I tried this -
v=spf1 a mx include:spf.protection.outlook.com include:spf.ess.barracudanetworks.com ~all
It worked - without shopify included...
But now all of a sudden Im getting a captcha box... the worst one.. hwere you have to pick a mountain... or a crosswalk.. I hate that one. Anyway, I removed the mx and now Im not getting the email.... so right now its
v=spf1 a include:spf.protection.outlook.com include:spf.ess.barracudanetworks.com ~all
Still NO Shopify in there - but when I had the mx included - and no shopify the email was delivered?
Without knowing your store URL, I cannot definitively tell you. But from your trial and error I'd be using
v=spf1 a mx include:spf.protection.outlook.com include:spf.ess.barracudanetworks.com include:shops.shopify.com ~all
then also in your shoppy dashboard
online store >> preferences >> scroll down >> turn OFF captcha
Then even with Captcha OFF, if you keep using the same IP / browser combo, shopify will still insert a captcha ( anti spammers ). So the captcha is irrelevant to your SPF settings, thats an shoppy anti spam thing. Use diff IPs ( VPN ) + browser each time. Usually the FIRST visit to a webpage is ok ( no captcha ) then 2nd maybe, 3rd, for sure anti spam kicks in.
Use the above SPF, and smash the likes, I am not shoppy support, and you aren't paying me, so give me something ( like all my posts )
🙂
yes, do as above post and smash the likes. If you need help with fixing the current theme or other customizations, gimme a yell ( not free ) eg the 'powered by Shopify' in the footer, most ecom sites change that. ⭐️
Hey Dan, thanks for your help. I cant explain it but the contact form is delivering without adding shopify in the spf record.. Im good on the footer.. Im rebuilding the site.. I just wanted to understand the spf record in dns. Will definitely be smashing the likes!
I did an example with a family member, he sent me a contact message and I do not see any message received where I see it and what is the problem? Thanks
Already responded above how to fix. You can go about it 2 ways.
1. Create an alias account and use that ~ such as support2@yoursite.com and have it direct mail to support@yoursite.com
2. Contact Shopify and tell them that they're blocking your email ~ support@yoursite.com ~ after 15 minutes research they will unblock it. Nothing you do from your end will fix it. The issue is from their end. Only solution from your end is to use alternative email. If you don't want to contact them, just use another email such as info@yoursite.com instead of whatever they blocked.
Last option is to use Apps. I had success with this. Search the store for Contact Us Form
im having the same issue right now and i also am paying a plan with shopify i dont know how to fix this
Hi Dan, Can you please help us out?
Our contact form HERE was set up and running smoothly when we launched the site. It was sending notification to our info@ business email when we received new submissions but have been informed that new contact submissions have been filled out since then and we haven't received anything.
we have this contact form connected to klayvio as well and thats working. when the submission is sent through their email is added to the list.. we're just not getting notified.
Can you please help us out on this?
thanks,
Andrew,
If the form is Klaviyo, then Klav is sending the notification email, ask them what magic they need added to to SPF record. Shopify only sends emails from the stores themes contact form. Direct your enquiry to Klaviyo, shopify doesn't send notifications on behalf of Klaviyo form submissions.
SMASH THE LIKES !!!!
Hello, I am having this issue as well. Order emails send fine however the contact page is not sending/receiving.
Jetboyco.com
Yo Jetboyco,
your current DNS MX record is
v=spf1 a mx include:_spf.google.com ~all
change to
v=spf1 a mx include:_spf.google.com include:shops.shopify.com ~all
wait 48hours for the world to get this update ( DNS propagation )
then open a live shopify chat and tell them you have made recent changes to your DNS records. Tell them to check the contact form is sending successfully and that your website is not on the "supression list".
When they check live, shopify can see if the email leaves shopify server and if there is any error message. If they get an error message after you have confirmed that the contact form email has been sent, then let me know what the error is now. But google
is fine once shopify removes you from the supression list.
Let me know either way,
and smash the likes on all my posts here too !!!!
If you need an other shopify work, just sing out,
tnx, Dan the web man 🙂

Hi GCB, I'm having a similar problem with the contact form, my site is veggiebox.co.nz
my Anzac friend,
your current TXT record is
v=spf1 a mx include:_spf.google.com ~all@
which is in error, CHANGE this to
v=spf1 a mx include:_spf.google.com include:shops.shopify.com ~all
wait 48hours for the world to get this update ( DNS propagation )
then open a live shopify chat and tell them you have made recent changes to your DNS records. Tell them to check the contact form is sending successfully and that your website is not on the "supression list".

Hi Dan! Could you help me with our website as well? We've got a huge building expansion underway and are accepting event inquiries -- but it's come to my attention that our Contact Form isn't working either which is obviously a big problem since we've really encouraged submissions lately.

Thank you!!

Hello Dan!
I’m having the same issue with my gmail. I’m pretty sure it’s something with my DNS settings but I haven’t had any success. Could you possibly take a look for me?
threeseventeenjewelryco.com
Ebaniewilson,
Replace
v=spf1 ip4:23.227.38.32 include:_spf.google.com include:_spf.perfora.net include:_spf.kundenserver.de ~all
with
v=spf1 a mx include:_spf.google.com include:_spf.perfora.net include:_spf.kundenserver.de include:shops.shopify.com ~all
this allows the shopify website to send emails.
then wait 48 hours for the world to update ( google dns propagation ), then test the contact form, if it works YAY, otherwise contact shopify supoport ( chat is faster ) and ask if your domain is on the "supression list" and ask to be removed. You only end up on the "supression list" if emails keep bouncing back to shopify from your email provider ( something is wrong with your setup, most likely your current DNS settings ), so shopify gives up on sending emails ( from your contact form ), and just ignores contact enquiries, and shopify doesn't notify the store !!!
Smash the likes on all my posts !!!
Hi Dan,
That did the trick! Turns out, I was on the suppression list. Chat representative handled it for me in less than 15 minutes. Thank you so much!
we are also experiencing the contact us page not working issue
Hey, @aaamodelsupply.
Thank you for joining this thread.
We'd recommend looking over our guide on Setting up your email and following the steps to authenticating your third-party domain to see if that can help resolve the issue. If the problem continues to persist and you're using a Shopify-supported theme, then it looks like we'll need to access your account in order to resolve this issue. While we're unable to provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community, we'd be happy to continue assisting you through live chats. Simply visit the Shopify Help Center and login to your account to create a support request.
If you have any other questions on this topic, then don't hesitate to let us know.

Hi Aaamodelsupply,
For your setup, it looks like you are self hosting emails, so change
v=spf1 a mx include:websitewelcome.com ~all
to
v=spf1 a mx include:shops.shopify.com include:websitewelcome.com ~all
also add a TXT record
_dmarc.aaamodelsupply.com TXT v=DMARC1;p=none;sp=none;adkim=r;aspf=r;pct=100;
then wait 24 hours for this update to get around the internet.
then open a live shopify chat and tell them you have made recent changes to your DNS records. Tell them to check the contact form is sending successfully and that your website is not on the "supression list".
When they check live, shopify can see if the email leaves shopify server and if there is any error message. If they get an error message after you have confirmed that the contact form email has been sent, then let me know what the error is now. But it
is fine once shopify removes you from the supression list.

Hello Dan,
I am having the same problem on my shopify contact form.
We are on a paid shopify plan. I beleive our issue might be somewhere in the DNS settings. Are you able to help us?

web: https://cshpharmacy.com.pk
email: info@cshpharmacy.com.pk
I am having the same issue, I have a paid version of shopify. (www.nonydesignco.com) When I initially setup my website in the summer of 2020 everything worked. Now I am getting messages on social that clients cannot contact us through our website. I tried to submit a request and got an error. See screenshot below.
read the prev posts, your domain has
v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all
make it
v=spf1 a mx include:spf.protection.outlook.com ~all
no MINUS (-) but tilder (~) all
Also, see attached, shopify may require your domain to have additional CNAME entries, unique to each store.
Goto Settings >> general ( see attached ) >> Manage >> follow dns entries as needed.
smash the likes if this helped you, this is not Shopify support, but done out of my own free time
🙂
NonyDesignCo,
your contact page;
https://www.nonydesignco.com/pages/lets-chat
is using some "public.honeybook.com" service thru an iframe, direct your problems in that direction.
this is a shopify community, and they dont pay me at all for all this support.
🙂
Hi Dan!
Hopefully you are still here!
I have followed all your instructions and I am still not receiving any e-mails from my shop's contact form..
My site is: www.craftoholic.com.au
Maybe you can help me what else to do?
Thank you
(I am using Gsuite as well and I changed that Txt field, still nothing)
Hi Craftoholic !!
I see what you've done, msg me directly thru GCwebteam so I can reply to you privately via email for your unique setup.
Everyone else, if you have gone thru all this discussion and the form still doesn't send, hit me up with a 'reply to' email address. This discussion should fix 90%+ of cases, the other million things that can go wrong are not worth detailing here. Dont forget to leave me a contact email to reply to on my website contact form !!
Happy Shopifying everyone 🙂
Hi, check my website as well please. Contact form not working!
www.chaville.com.br
Email: ecom.chaville@gmail.com
I've reached out to you, check your emails !!
🙂
HI,
I have the same problem, can you help me?
My URL is: Trinwel.com
Thanks
Hi,
I can.t receive email from contact.page on my website.
I'm using email as xxxxxxxxxx@trinwel.com
Can you help me? I understood, from previous users, the problem is configuration of TXT on DNS provider.
Thanks Trinwel Milano, I have replied with specifics for your website on how to fix directly via message. Let me know how you go.
For everyone else, if you have tried everything in the previous 4 pages, that should fix 90% of websites. There are many ways to setup email contact forms using different email providers, best to reach out to me directly and I will help with an individual response for your website.
No need to install third party apps or displaying your email on the contact page. Using the built in Shopify form filters away spam and unwanted time wasting contact form submissions. But it needs to be configutred correctly to work.
Reach out for help. Dan 🙂
Hi,
Can you help me please?
My Contact US form is here https://www.nuemporia.com/pages/contact-us
Thank you.
Hey NuEmporia, msg me directly. You are using Zoho with a netregistry domain, requires an individual solution so theres no use posting to the world here.
Finally, Shopify Support managed to resolve the problem with my Contact Us form.
If you have TXT records configured correctly but it is still not working, try to change Sender Email in Settings -> Contact information -> Sender email.
Another important point to consider that your Sender email should not contain no-reply or other spammy words, otherwise it will automatically ignored/blocked/dropped by Shopify mailing service.
I hope someone finds this useful.
Glad to help NuEmporia, as I messaged you, making those changes I noted and getting shopify support solved your websites problem.
Hi, I am having the same problem with teacurry.us
My forms are not sending out emails. Please check. I have set everything as required.
I send a message to you Kusum2 for your specific website.
I am on a paid plan and my contact form is not working and has not been (from customer feedback). What can I do to solve this? www.therightcarstuff.com. Thank you!
I'm having the same issue. I've had a paid account for a while now, but I can't remember if I've actually tested the contact form until a customer told me they'd sent a message without a response.
If anyone could help, I'd much appreciate it!

Thanks LeonAndrew, I've reached out via the msgs. I got you.
🙂
Make sure you have read and tried all the previous answers here first, that will fix 90% of problems for you, otherwise you probably have a unique setup that I can help with too. Just msg me thru shopify or my website in the signature below.
I have been 100% successful in getting contact forms working with Shopify stores and whatever email host you have. Some solutions are move involved than others ( eg mail redirects involved etc )
another success, smash the likes ppl !!!
😊⭐️👍
Hi champs,
Maybe you can help me too? I have setup a new store. I do not receive any e-mails from Shopify. The URL is www.beetle-energy.nl
