All things Shopify and commerce
I’m having this problem I’m trying to connect my Shopify store to my Facebook and I keep getting this message. “This Facebook account is restricted” what do I do next??
Hi, @IsaiahSpratley.
Thanks for posting to the Community, I hope your day is going well!
Unfortunately, the error you are seeing is coming directly from Facebook, and they don't provide us any specific information regarding the restriction.
In order to connect to Facebook, you will need to reach out directly to Facebook support on how to remove the restriction from your account. They have a fantastic guide on how to troubleshoot your restricted account.
Or, another potential solution is to create all new Facebook accounts. This would include a personal account. However, I can't guarantee this will work.
In the meantime, there are other marketing options you can use while you work to resolve your issue with Facebook. For example, influencer marketing! This is a cost effective marketing strategy that lets you advertise your products to specific targeted audiences via social media influencers. For more information check out our guide here.
This has happened to me as well. As soon as I connected my Shopify store I got restricted due to an identity issue. There is a glitch.
Happened to me as well. Process is stuck and now I cannot do advertisements...
Try downloading the META advertising app and verify your identity via Account Quality. It did not work for me but has worked for some in the discussions I have been reading. I am still working with Facebook to see if I can find a solution.
Can you help me and tell me how to fix this problem.
Thanks.
This happened to me as well. Did you find a solution?
I'm having the same issue. Just created both personal and business account for Facebook. At first it did not show me the message, but as soon as I posted my first "post" on my business account on Facebook to complete the profile, it showed me this message. Did you find a solution?

I just worked with Meta Support and was able to easily resolve this. The most likely culprit of the error is that you do not have two factor authentication on. Follow this article and turn on 2 fact auth and go back to setup the facebook link in Shopify and it should work!
Thank you! This worked for me.
Amazing thank you. This did the trick for me
Tried it and it’s still not working anything else you could suggest?
