Why is my Shopify payout constantly failing?

I woke up and Shopify wants to verify my account, no problem. I send them my details but every day they ask for an additional document, this whole verification process took 2 WEEKS in which I couldn't receive payouts. 2 WEEKS. They had me change the details of the account holder to someone older as I am under 18 (fine ok, my fault) but even once everything straightened out, they say they tried to send me a payout but it failed on my bank's side. I call my bank and they say they didn't get anything and nothing would prevent me from getting a payout. I'm going to contact support again (which always seems impossible) and I know it will take another 2 weeks to straighten this out because they don't give a Rats Ass about anything because they literally have a monopoly on e-commerce and know I won't switch to Squarespace or another.

Hey there, @FrankCushman. Thanks so much for bringing your situation to the Shopify Community.

First, I'm so sorry to hear about the situation you're experiencing, and have experienced, so far. Our Team will request information for merchants to ensure that their payouts are set up as needed, and we do know that these interruptions can be frustrating, especially if they're frequent. I want to ensure you that this information is only requested to ensure that things are setup as needed for your payments, and to ensure that future interruptions to your payout schedule can be avoided.

When it comes to failed payouts, these can occur for numerous reasons. There are instances where a payout may fail due to the bank being unable to accept deposits from certain entities to one's account. Of course, there are other issues that could occur, as well. I strongly recommend that you reach out to our Live Team via our Help Portal as they will be able to more specifically identify what specific error occurred, and how to remedy it.

If you have any additional questions for me, feel free to follow up with me here and ask away!

They have been holding our 5-figure money for 10+ days. Support is useless. If you reach out to them, they will just add a note to the ticket saying that you reached out. Finance/Account Team is supposed to look into this issue but support agents do not reach out to them directly. They just add a note to the ticket and nobody sees those notes. I contacted to support 8-10 times at different times and talked with different people. They lie saying that "Team is working on it", "They are investigating it", "They are reviewing it". NO THEY ARE NOT. When I ask support agents how exactly they know someone is working on it, they don't have an answer. They assume it. They just want to close chat and continue with their lives. They say they understand my concern and urgency. How nice. Your understanding is not paying my debts to the suppliers. I need my money. If your payouts are being held, take three deep breaths. Remind yourself that your business will survive this as well. Do meditation to find calm and peace. You will need it.
