Re: Speed Loading and Working

Why is my site's performance slowing down significantly?

Hi, I encounter quite a slow performance in the back and front end. Is there maintenance going on in the system. Compared to the last few days it's down by -90% speed. Has somebody encountered the same problems? I checked https://www.shopifystatus.com/ – everything seems to be alright.

I encountered the same issue and tested some other shopify pages through google pagespeed and they seemed to be also slow.

Thank you … so it seems to be a platform-based problem. Hopefully, Shopify will take care of this today. I don't know where to address this, because it takes up to 48 hours in my country (Germany) till you can expect a reply.

I am also from Germany and opened a similar issue on the German shopify discussions. Maybe its a Germany only issue.

Greate, I got a reply by the support, but they couldn't see a problem. They told me to check on my browser settings and extensions and try it with incognito mode. All this didn't fix the issue at my computer and obviously also not at the computer of my client. I gave the support my feedback and a link to this board. I hope they will find the problem. One question … do you use apps like "live product options"? This is the only difference to a vanilla Shopify Store in our case.

Yeah I also got a video in the German thread where my site was shown to be working properly, which is weird.
We use the kalles theme for our website and I am not sure but I haven't seen anything in our theme that is called live product options. So I would assume we don't have anything like that.

Hey Guys! Just chiming in here. A few merchants have mentioned this throttling of speeds (also in the private FB Group) and it seems to be a certain German ISP that is throttling (Drosselung) certain Domains like shopify.com. This is not the first time it has happened especially with ISPs like Deutsche Telekom

Can I ask who your ISP is?

Hi! I worked on the system throughout the night since speeds were somewhat back to normal. I received a second reply from support stating that they cleared the cache of the system, and that's all they could do for me, as my system appeared normal to them. It seems to have resolved the issue for now, but I will provide updates if the problem reoccurs. My ISP is Deutsche Telekom T-Online. If someone encounters the same problem, it might also have helped that I rebooted my connection to them as well. I don't know if the speed for my client is now better, but I assume this is the case, since I haven't heard any complaints this morning.

Hey there Ole,

Glad to see you have resolved this issue.

If you need further analysis of how to improve your store on a technical front, let me know.

We optimize stores for visibility and speed, optimize PDP's, implement the right keywords where competition is possible, compress/reduce/minify JS/CSS and DOM size, build backlinks and much more.

Regards,
