Why is using Shopify considered costly compared to WordPress?

Why Shopify is expensive to use. Like in WordPress, we have a lot of plugins for free use but here we have to pay for almost everything.

Avoid having a mindset that strangles your business.

If it's free why even use shopify.

If some service is so expensive as to be unfordable, or unprofitable, then you don't actually need it and should move on.

It isn't expensive if it saves you time, money or makes you more money.

Regardless of "free", Regardless of "expensive", others deserve to be compensated for improving your business.

When others provide solutions for specific needs by investing their own time and expertise as a business to provide those solutions just pay them, collect your profits and move on.

It's strange thinking to arrive at questions that frame things in a way that you get value but others should not.

  1. The only thing that's free about WordPress is the code. You still have to pay for hosting, and/or maintain a server yourself, which is no small task. Especially if you have a high-traffic store.
  2. Free WordPress plugins generally don't include the same level of support that Shopify apps do, unless you pay them.

Shopify has these costs too, but what you're paying extra for is the convenience of not having to do everything yourself.

The biggest problem with Shopify price it not the fixed price.

It's the fees and the hidden fees. They will become wery costly once you grow.

Shopify is made to slice every penny out of your business.

I just found out I have to pay $39.99 every month for the Etsy Integration app to import and retain my Etsy listings on Shopify. I thought that was included. Does anyone know a free way to import my listings??
