Why was my online store abruptly terminated?

Hi All,

Looking for some information.

 

I have received an email from Shopify advising that my store and account have been terminated. With absolutely no reason defined.

I have been going back and forth with support over the payouts being disabled - even though I have submitted all documentation to Shopify multiple times. Emailing back and forth, licenses, paperwork all sorts of documentation.

 

I have been building the store, but have had nothing but issues with Shopify since starting.

 

They have billed me incorrectly, I was advised by support to upgrade my plan, for absolutely no reason, to fix an issue which was caused by your platform not allowing me to perform certain functions. Then the plan was reduced to a pause and build plan, as recommended by your support team. I was advised to use manual payment capture, and configure the store, then set it back to a normal plan.

I have done everything support have advised, and spent MAJOR MONEY getting this to the point of working. All for the payouts to STILL be disabled, have the original issues I had with payouts, and now the store is terminated.

 

THIS IS COMPLETLY UNNACCEPTABLE.

Shopify have just taken money from me for months, provided lack lustre support, and then just decided to terminate my account altogether.

 

I HAVE NOT EVEN GOT TO THE POINT WHERE I HAVE MADE A SINGLE SALE.

I have paid employees significant amounts of money to create import data files from feeds, and store configuration. All to have my account terminated with absolutely no reason, information, or advice.

THE ONLY SALE I HAVE EVEN MANAGED TO COMPLETE WAS A TEST ONE.

 

Has anyone else had the same issue?

I want a Senior Manager to respond or contact me.

You cannot just take money from people, then decide to close their business because you see fit. I want a reason.

 

After the amount of money I have spent on your platform, to have it cancelled for no reason, immediately makes me want to sue your company, and go straight to your competitor.

This is Shopifys Answer - still unable to get any sort of support or phone call - they just dont answer the submitted tickets now.

Shopify is a storefront, for people with poor customer service - doing dropshipping with rubbish items from China - with a poor record.

 

I have a legitimate business, with products sourced from Australia, with a proper return policy, consumer refund laws are adhered to - my company has never had any legal issue with a customer or company, yet you deem my business has a "level of risk"

 

This is incredibly stupid. All companies have a level of risk. Considering I have submitted more paperwork than what was actually required, this is absolute rubbish.

 

Considering that Shopify has not lost any money because of my business, and MY COMPANY HAS LOST MONEY BECAUSE OF SHOPIFY - SHOPIFY PRESENT THE LEVEL OF RISK NOT ME.

This is ridiculous - what this statement says is - GO TO OUR COMPETITOR. Have you ever heard a business recommend to go to thier opposition?

 

WHAT SORT OF COMPANY IS THIS? IT LOOKS MORE LIKE EXTORTION AND THEFT TO ME.

Shopify,

 

If this is not resolved or reversed, ill be doing a review of my experience, and sharing it with the world.

It will be highly detailed, explaining every single issue I have had with your company, from the platform design, through to the support team, and legal team. It will outline exactly all of the costs involved, it will involve detail about all the money you have stolen/extorted from me. 

I am a reputable business person, so my opinion will be understood and trusted by many.

 

I am certain that if others hear my experience, they will not want to do business with Shopify, and they will go elsewhere.

So to all people I say this. DO NOT USE SHOPIFY IT IS A SCAM.

 

I am convinced it is a scam, because of my experience, and the fact that others have had a similar experience with no resolution.

I have received no response to any of my support tickets - 0 response. I have received 0 phone calls as I have requested. I have had 0 response, to any communications I have sent, besides the generic email from the legal team.

 

I have spent significant money - (more than the average person just starting a store) - we paid I.T people to configure scripts for data import procedures, we have hundreds of hours in this.

Shopify have gladly taken subscription money, and provided ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in return.

 

THAT IS OTHERWISE KNOWN AS A SCAM.

 

Shopify's buffoons, will destroy their own business, by terminating the accounts of legitimate business owners at a whim, with no explanation. It is only a matter of time, before somebody sues your company for that, and then bye bye Shopify.

 

My advice here, for anybody - do not use this platform, you will regret it. If this is the way that Shopify treats the people that pay them, I am not surprised 20 % of the company was fired.

Your platform and its procedures, would simply bankrupt somebody who is just beginning with e-commerce. Average people do not have thousands and thousands of dollars to keep pumping into subscriptions, while your INCOMPETENT support team figure out how their own software works. Average people cannot afford to have their store, just "terminated" out of nowhere. You are ruining peoples business.

 

I will be going straight to your opposition. I will also be doing a very in depth review of your services and platform, for as many people to see as possible. 

 

I CAN SEE WHY SHOPIFY FIRED 20% OF ITS STAFF THIS YEAR - INCOMPETENCE AND A FAILING BUSINESS. 

 

Personally, I am actually in complete awe of the way I have been treated, as a legitimate business person, I find it completely disrespectful, completely unprofessional, and to be honest completely amateur.

 

Your competitor will be glad to have my business, and probably all the business of the other people you have scammed, with your fake e-commerce platform.

 

IF YOU WANT TO LOSE MONEY AND HAVE YOUR STORE TERMINATED WITHOUT REASON AT ANY TIME WITHOUT ANY REPURCUSSIONS ON SHOPIFY, COSTING YOUR BUSINESS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS - USE SHOPIFY.

I’m having the same issue, and if I do having something I need to change on my website they aren’t specifying what I need to do. It’s very simply frustrated considering I've put a lot of time and money into setting it up! I’ve tried to contact support via text and calling and every time I do it says error. I’d love to continue selling from my store and growing so can someone please help me get this figured out. I have zero understanding of what I could’ve done wrong. I fairly new to e-commerce but I’ve figured it out till now

I am facing the same issue. My account got suspended for no reason and its been more than 12 hours since I have received any appropriate reply from Shopify. Still awaiting for response from their end but after reading all these posts I think I should not wait.

I created my account and one day later it got terminated, same thing. Not a single sale made but it got terminated. I worked hard to build the site and now it was a waste of time. The appeal form isn't working either. I already subscribed to the basic plan, it better not charge me after deleting my account. I don't know how to ensure it doesn't.

I literally just had the same problem. Tons of money down the drain. Smh.

How is it legal for shopify to halt a person's business like that?. On a whim really. Can put people in a lot of risk etc.

This should not be legal and I hope there are some developments in this regards.
