Winter Editions options that arent variants?

Hi, I have just seen the info for Shopify's Winter Editions, which promises a huge overhaul of products - great for me as Im about to get my (existing test) shop set up & live. I sell complicated products, furniture, & each product has many options I dont want in variants - eg leg colour, there could be a choice of 20. We only use variants for two or three options max eg size, headboard height & upholstery type. Its usually two though.

Will it be possible to add options that arent variants? That can use images (of the finish, not the product) instead of hex codes? Id really love to be able to bulk edit these - things like lacquer colours change all the time.

Many of the options we need are not colours either, & may have an additional price eg adding led lighting. Id like to keep as many as I can in Shopify but not sure what Winter Editions will allow me to do. These ARE NOT variants & never will be.

Ill probably need an addon but then anything in that addon wont be part of the new search.

I havent seen this one yet, Ill take a look at it. You can possibly do custom mods on it? I looked very quickly at it but wasnt sure it had the feautures, so will take another look. Is it simple enough to bulk edit options on products? Possible to keep options in sets?

The problem isn't how it looks on the screen/website - the problem is how I administer the huge numbers of options without having to go via the app.

every option will be managed by metaobject.

A metaobject can contain 50 entries and a single entry can have a list of metaobject of 50.
