Is there an free app or code to display "xx people are viewing this product right now"?

I don't need it to be a live counter, even just random numbers 3, 10, 23, etc.

I'm using the dawn theme for my site.

It's interesting - we have a thread from about two years ago that's worded just like your question! The nice thing about this older thread is that there is a coding solution, and app solutions available for you to try in your own store. In case you missed this thread, I wanted to include it for you here. I definitely recommend you visit that thread and look at the solutions posted there for guidance!

In terms of simplicity, adding an app to your store will inject the coding needed to do this into your theme without you having to do anything extra. This is typically the way we suggest folks go about adding something like this to their store. You can definitely go the route of adding coding, but this is more challenging versus adding an app.
