Is it possible in ANY way to have Shopify Flow trigger an order update with email notification to customer?
We have an app that adds the "Estimated Delivery Date" to our orders upon creation. It adds this date to both the order notes and as an order metafield. The problem is the app adds this about 1-2 seconds after order creation so it's not added to orders most of the time when Shopify sends the order confirmation email.
I would like to trigger the order update email somehow after 1 min of order creation so it will send the updated order email to customer with the "Estimated Delivery Date" now attached to order.
Any way possible to achieve this with Shopify Flow or any other way for that matter?
You can use a Wait step directly after the trigger which waits for a specified amount of time before executing the rest of the workflow. The state of the order will also be refreshed after the wait step so you'll have the latest notes/metafields.

Hi Jeff! Yes I see that I can use the wait step after the order creation trigger, but the problem that I can't figure out is how to actually use Flow to trigger an order update to send the email notification to customer. What action should I use to achieve this? Is there a list available that show what actions actually trigger an order updated email notification to customer, that I can use in Flow?
The only email related actions are:
- "Send Internal Email" which will send an email to a fixed set of email addresses, but not customers.
- "Send order invoice" and "Send draft order invoice" if you're looking to send an invoice to an email address.
- Automations in the Marketing section of the Admin can send marketing emails to customers who have opted-in to marketing.

Instead of using Flow to email the customer the update, are there any actions within Flow that I can use to "Update" the order that would trigger Shopify to email the customer using the Order Update template? Just like if I make certain changes within Admin to an order, it gives an option to email the customer the order update, will any actions within Flow send this order update email?
When you add an action to Flow, you can search all the tasks available to you. If you type in "order" you'll get actions that are related to orders.

Do you know what actions will trigger a order updated email to customer? That is the problem I am not sure about.
You can find settings related to order notifications to customers under Settings -> Notifications -> Customer Notifications.
