Having issues with Slack and Flow integration?

I recently tried to use Slack within the Shopify flow app. The integration wasn't working properly, as i was receiving error messages when trying to run the automation. I deleted the flowbot app from Slack and tried to reinstall it. However, I can no longer install the flowbot app and I'm now receiving new error messages (expected, since flowbot is no longer installed). Has anyone run into this issue?

This is an accepted solution.

To reconnect Shopify Flow to Slack there are a few steps you need to do in the Flow app as well.

  1. Open a workflow and navigate as if you are going to add a slack action to your workflow.
  2. Instead of selecting a slack action, look for the disconnect button under the slack heading and select it.
  3. Once disconnected, refresh the Flow editor and click the connect button (where disconnect previously was) to login back in to Slack.

Once these steps are complete, you should be able to see Flowbot in Slack. It's also worth noting that based on recent changes to the Slack API, you will need to manually add Flowbot to the Slack channel(s) that you intend to use it in.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much! This worked perfectly. Been going back and forth with Shopify support for a week trying to fix this.

Hey Ethansz, where can I find and connect that Shopify Flow to Slack integration?

You should be able to find it in the list of Actions when adding a new action to your workflow. Make sure to toggle the filter for uninstalled Connectors or you'll only see Connectors for apps you have installed.

Dave, you seem to be the only person alive that knows about this, lol.

I'm pretty close on getting this working...but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the "flowbot" app installed in Slack. That final step.

It seems like the flowbot is only available in the specific channel in Slack that you specify in the Shopify Flow Slack Action...like when you set it up you input the channel you want, then you disconnect it and reconnect it and it maybe....it possibly....maybe.... enables a magical Flowbot to appear in your Slack Channel settings. I can't get that damn unicorn to appear brother. Any help appreciated.

Shopify support has no idea, not even remotely. Any help appreciated. Not sure why there is so little info on this online.

I found the connector.  It's completely hidden and support knows literally nothing about it, I was scouring for hours looking for help to no avail. You have to install a Flow template that includes a Slack action.  Then open up the Flow and click on the Slack action. You'll see a Slack connection option,, if you're logged into Slack it should be automatic.

Once it's connected it still won't work most likely, that's right.

You'll need to edit that trigger and adjust the flow how you want... then... you'll need to click on the Flow action again and disconnect Slack.

Then open that trigger again... and reconnect Slack.

The last thing you need to do is add FlowBot to the Slack Channel you want to use then open "View Channel Details" and search for the App.

However there's no damn FlowBot app in the app list in Slack so that's where I am now.  Maybe it will show up for you.

Unfortunately the tiny bit of fragmented instruction on this is broken AI garbage in the Shopify Help Center and support knows nothing as of 2/7/25.  No videos online either showing how it's done.

Regarding Slack bot, once you connect it should be accessible in your Slack. Here, I'm @flowbot and see it.

We'll add more detail around FlowBot to the docs.

This client does have an app that is currently connecting Slack and Shopify so maybe that is blocking it? Can you confirm that another app connection Slack/Shopify would block the native connection? Is there only room for 1 connection type maybe?

It is considerably disruptive to remove that app entirely so I was hoping to have this native integration working before removing it.  Also I would use the app but it has limited features and FLOW looks like it will do it.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks man

You can only have 1 user connect Slack per Shopify shop, if that's what you are asking.

That's what I desperately needed to hear broseph.  Thanks man, I scrap the app and natively integrate, should be way more flexibility and....free 🙂

there can be only 1.webp
