How to automate dropshipping with external vendors on Shopify?

Hello everyone ! I am wondering, has anybody connected their Shopify Store with external vendors? I am currently working for a client and we want to sell car parts without having a stock. He is buying them from other vendors and sell them more expensive. He does not have a physical stock ..he just does this when he has some orders and he has some because he is in the business. I was thinking to automate this process for him , make him an website and do some sort of dropshipping by do some integration between a Shopify Store and the vendor/vendors . It is possible?
