Restrict paymant methods for specific Products

Hello,

as there is a new Workflow App in Shopify I was wondering if there is a possibility to restrict payment methods for the Order which includes specific products or products from a specific category. We are selling 3D-Printing products for Hookahs. Those can be sold via Paypal but we want to sell e-cigarette products either and those can not be sold via Paypal. These can only be sold via Klarna. Therefore it would be great to deacticate paypal as payment method if a customer adds those e-cigarette products.

If you are talking about Shopify Flow app, I don't think we support actions to restrict payment methods at this point.

If your store is Shopify Plus, you may be able to use custom script code for this, e.g.

based on product SKUs or product tags

custom scripts aren't related to Shopify Flow, but still hope this helps!

Unfortunately our store is not a Shopify Plus Store yet.

So I am looking for a solution that is possible for us without upgrade to the expensive Shopify Plus version.

Hi @NicHydroSmoke,

At this time, it is not able to restrict the use of a payment method based on the product ordered by the customer. It may be possible using scripts, as mentioned above, but this is a Plus-only feature.

Your best option here would likely be to set up a second store for your e-cigarette products, with that store not having PayPal enabled. I can however see why having the option to restrict methods to certain products would be a useful feature and I'll be sure to pass this feedback onto our development team.
