Shopify Flow is an ecommerce automation platform that enables you to automate tasks and processes within your store and across your apps.
I’m looking for information on setting up a gift card incentive for customers based on their total purchase amount.
For example, if a customer spends $100 (excluding one specific product that already has a gift card promotion tied to it), they would receive a $20 gift card via email upon payment completion.
Alternatively, is it possible to offer a 20% gift card on purchases over $100, again excluding the same product? Any insights or examples would be appreciated!
Im looking at trying to implement this for Black Friday through Cyber Monday.
If you have a shopify partner you suggest I am open to hiring them to do this.
Hi @Dillon_Pena there's already a similar template to this using Rise.ai to manage the gift card creation.

Flow can't generate complicated discount rules out of the box which means either: using the advanced send-admin-api-request action to try and build specific discounts with the api , or an app integration similar to gift-cards with Rise.ai , or a dedicated discount app, or another automation app.
If this means discounts , there's a template that show how to do this for manual discount codes with preset static amount
Clarifications, assume you either mean a 20% discount , or you mean issues gift cards whose amount is set to 20% of the total purchase value of an order.
Not clear what you mean by excluding the same product so have to assume the discounts cannot apply to any items in the order.
Realistically you'll need a bespoke solution for these compounding complexities, or gift-card app/service or possibly some middleware.
In general unless you have the budget to burn to validate experiments you should try and simplify the campaign to a simpler scope.

Hi @Dillon_Pena
BOGOS app can help you achieve exactly what you are looking for! Here are the steps once you've installed and activated the app:
1) First, please enable the feature DraftOrder API in Settings
2) Create new offer, with the $100 cart value condition, and with the gift card selected as gift in your offer.
You can easily exclude certain products that already has gift card promotion tied to it.
Here is an example of the offer created with BOGOS:

MIght be tricky to do this in flow since you won't be able to get any response back from the gift card api to confirm whether it was created successfully. There's a 3rd party app called mechanic that would be good for this. I'd be happy to help you with this.
This can be done in two ways.
1. You can natively within Shopify Flow using the admin api.
2. You can do this using my app iziGift.
The big differences are
1. Flow is free
2. In my app you will get more data about if your gift cards are leading to more revenue / return customers / first time customers, etc (coming soon).
Below is a video of how it it looks in my app.

Good luck either way and if you do decide to check out my app please let me know, I would love to help.
