We want to take a new path if an error occurs in one of our flow steps. Is this possible? i.e. on error take a different path.

I'm not sure it's possible to define a condition or action within the workflow that takes steps following an error but it is possible to trigger another workflow when an error occurs using the Workflow error occurred trigger as well as Send Shopify alert for errors to notify users of the error. It may be possible to achieve your goal across two workflows using this trigger followed by a condition on the triggering workflow name or ID.
