Hello clever people, I need to know if Shopify Plus can do this specific thing:
My client wants to make some changes to the core flow of the checkout pages, such as moving the Shipping method section under the Shipping details section on the Information page (effectively eliminating the "Shipping" page), or moving the Payment section under the Delivery section if "Pick up" is chosen (eliminating the need for a Payment page).
I know nothing like this is possible on Shopify Advanced (my client's current plan) and they are willing to upgrade to Shopify Plus, but only if this specific change is possible to be made to the Checkout.
I have looked into Functions and UI Extensions, but they appear to be more about additions to the checkout (custom fields, upselling stuff, discounts, etc) and I've found nothing about the core flow. I've spoken to Shopify Support and the most I got was it "should" be possible, but little in the way of concrete instructions.
I have created a Developer Preview store and had a poke around, but from what I'm seeing I'm not confident it can be done. Side note: I create a Checkout extensibility developer preview to gain access to the UI Extensions and Functions, but I am unable to create a custom checkout.liquid file, which I assume is limited Shopify Plus installs, and Dev previews can't do it.
On a related note my client is aware of the upcoming One-page checkout, but there is no firm release date and my client is interested in getting these updates sorted as quickly as possible, if possible.
